In spring, on the other hand, the pantries have to be slowly emptied of the food of the previous year, which is why there are voracious gatherings then too. The animal feed storage chambers had a capacity for a certain number of animals. Therefore, in autumn or early winter, one simply slaughtered the weak, old and sick animals and made "a virtue of necessity" by organizing a larger feast and drink.
