Festivities mostly in autumn or spring

As is well known, the harvest begins in autumn or late autumn, after the first frost, depending on which wine is to be made from the grapes. And that's exactly when there are a wide variety of wine festivals. Of course, these are not the new wines, but the barrels must be emptied before they can be filled with new water. The same applies to the Munich Oktoberfest, which has now become world-famous and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, who then pour tens of thousands of liters of this alcohol into themselves.
In spring, on the other hand, the pantries have to be slowly emptied of the food of the previous year, which is why there are voracious gatherings then too.
The animal feed storage chambers had a capacity for a certain number of animals. Therefore, in autumn or early winter, one simply slaughtered the weak, old and sick animals and made "a virtue of necessity" by organizing a larger feast and drink. Now a wedding party could be called, a child baptized, etc.
Then, when the newlywed couple had got sexually engaged in winter, a child was born in autumn and baptized a few weeks later; The following spring the offspring was just old enough to be taken in a basket when the field work began again. So that he did not cry out and constantly called for the mother every five minutes, a moon or schnapps pacifier was put in his mouth, from which he slept well, which often led to health damage.
