The victory of the individual over the community

A white negro, he was born an albino; Due to some genetic predisposition, he did not develop colour pigments. African babies are also white at birth. However, it soon turned out that he should stay white! He didn't get very old because he was killed as a child because he was different.
This is just one example of many that being different, being yourself has always been difficult.
Only the mad and mentally insane were treated a little better. In fact, in some cultures, they were believed to bring luck. They weren't startled by the same superstition, they weren't afraid of the same things.
But why is being different a sin that needs to be punished?
It disturbs the community, the order. In a dangerous situation, everyone has to work together, help each other, all stand up and act like one man, otherwise the group will perish. That's what survival instinct told us in prehistoric times. If you are not just different, but somehow better than the others, you can assert yourself. It took a long time for society to realize that something different also brings something new if the community is smart enough to use it for her own benefit.
But there was also something missing: namely the awareness of being someone alone or apart from the group. The first signs of this came from Athens, the Romans were too communal again, the dark Middle Ages too primitive; It was only the Renaissance that brought ancient Greek thoughts back to life. The focus was once again on the human being and the individual. It was no longer a shame to stand out, in some cases it was even admired. The average life expectancy rose steadily, the standard of living did the same. There was time and capacity to deal with yourself, build self-confidence and develop your own personality.
Independent thinking was slowly becoming more and more important. There have been and will always be setbacks, people did not want to and do not want to think and take responsibility for themselves and their environment.
But now, we are soon getting 100 years old in average. Do we never want to grow up? And do we never want to realize that diversity is better than uniformism? Society just has to be able and willing to incorporate this diversity into the whole.
In what condition would the world be today without such nerds like Aristotle, Michelangelo, Newton, Einstein ...... ..?
