Yevgeny Zamyatin - George Orwell - Anthony Burgess - Herbert Marcuse

The old kings hadn't disturbed people's private lives. They were only supported by their henchmen, the nobles and the Church.
But Napoleon was the first. He had come from the bottom, worked his way up and now terrorized the whole world with his crazy ideas. This new type of dictator also appeared in the pantry and bedroom. He not only asked for silent consent, he wanted people to cheer with him. He was formally addicted to being carried on the shoulders of the people. He was no longer just God's representative on earth, but wanted to create something new.
The restoration from 1816 should have restored the old lukewarm broth where people lived their lives. But this paradise for idle elites was to last only 100 years longer. In the 20th century, the immature people, who didn't know what to do with democracy, raised cheeky dwarfs. Almost every nation had its own clown, Germany Hitler, Italy Mussolini, Hungary Horthy, Spain Franco, Russia Lenin, who relied on nationalism to establish their own kingdom of heaven on earth. And that gave the material for new literary works:
Yevgeny Zamyatin with his “МЫ” (We) was the first. The world is divided into two parts: our system and the outside, the primitive, the barbarian world. Any contact with them is impossible. Until it succeeds.
George Orwell the second with "1984". The system monitors everything and everybody: "Big brother is watching you!" And demands absolute obedience and submission. The history of mankind is interpreted and rewritten differently as needed. It is doubtful whether, as is so often explained, Orwell only wanted to describe the communist system, especially so soon after the Nazi horror.
Anthony Burgess the third with "1985". His vision of the power of oil. Probably as a conclusion that the world is facing a major conflict or struggle for the world's resources. The only question is how he came up with the idea that the Arabs are allowed to sell their oil independently, since after the Second World War the U.S.A forced them to sell it exclusively in dollars to the world market. Perhaps he wanted to ingratiate himself with the U.S. government by portraying the Arab world as a great enemy.
The fourth and last in the series is Herbert Marcuse with "The One-Dimensional Man". The model of the influenced individual, who has no will of his own, who, like the donkey to whom a carrot is held, is fooled by the fact of constantly being poked by new consumer goods, in which new needs are constantly awakened, by things, which she / he actually doesn't need.
