3) the writer
1) In Maryland
A bird flew low over the water to
perch on the bank. It poked in this and that hole, looking for small edible
animals. After a while, it found a small crab under a stone. The crab tried
in vain to free itself from the bird's beak, all the fidgeting was of no use.
However, when the bird was about to swallow it, the little crab shouted:
“Stop!” The bird paused and looked at the crab more closely.
- Why should I wait?
- Didn't you hear?
- What should I have heard and
disregarded?
- It is Sunday today!
- Yes, it is Sunday today. I heard
the church bells and saw the humans enter the house of God.
- Exactly! And what country do we
live in?
- This is the country of Maryland.
- Very right! The head of
government has ordered that all shops be closed on Sunday.
- But not those who are loyal to
the party!
- Don't you believe in God? Are
you not Christian?
- No, I'm liberal! But I also
have one thing in common with these bogus Christians.
- And what would that be?
- We all eat on Sunday too!
And with these words he swallowed
the crab.
2) Motivation!
I am (not) motivated.
Something (doesn't) motivate me.
The teacher has to motivate his
students.
The supervisor has to motivate
his employees.
If the detective knows the
criminal's motive, it will be easier to catch him.
What is a motive? Couldn't it be
paraphrased with the words “aim or goal”? So when we expect to be motivated
by others, we permit others to set our goals, let others guide us, so to
speak, admit that we are dependent and immature.
3) An author
- Without paper, writes first on
his hand and last on his shirt.
- Without a pen, writes in the
sand with a stick.
- Without ideas, sits on a stone,
leg over leg.
